Aberthau Mansion Accessible Pathway and Garden Walk

Location

Vancouver, BC

About This Project

Attentus and Fricia Construction collaborated in this design-build project to create a fully accessible connection between the historic Aberthau House and the West Point Grey Fitness Centre. This new path provides functional and aesthetic enhancements, unifies the facilities physically and visually, and provides outdoor gathering spaces.

The design features a curved stone seat wall, columns and period inspired perennial garden. It is fully accessible with ramps, railings, and seating along the way. All of the elements were carefully designed and researched to be period-appropriate. The perennial gardens make this an ideal setting for photos, in this popular wedding destination.
